- What information we collect and why we collect it.
- How we use that information.
- The choices we offer, including how to access and update information.
We collect information in the following way:
First, we only collect information you give us. When sending us a message through our contact form, we’ll ask for personal information like your name, email address, telephone number. If you want to take full advantage of our sharing features, we might offer to create an account with a username and password. Because we use Google Analytics to look at the trend of our general use of our services, your IP address will also be collected.
Information we share:
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of UMC personnel information that is shared for UMC internal business and compliance.
For legal reasons:
We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of UMC if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:
- Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
- Enforce any applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
- Detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
- Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of UMC, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
We may share:
We work hard to protect UMC and our users or customers from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. In particular, we review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems. We restrict access to personal information to UMC employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.
Compliance and cooperation with regulatory authorities:
"Legal process or enforceable governmental request"
UMC may receive requests from governments and courts around the world to hand over user data. If this happens, our legal team will review each and every request, regardless of type. To the extent we are able to, we will do our best to push back when the requests appear to be overly broad or don’t follow the correct process.
For example, we continuously monitor our systems to check that they are working as intended and in order to detect and fix errors.
"Protect UMC and our users"
For example, one reason we collect and analyze IP addresses and cookies is to protect our services against automated abuse that can compromise our website or steal our information.
